In response to concerns from the Sonoma County Department of Health Services, the US Environmental Protection Agency initiated a cooperative agreement with IAI and the California Department of Public Health to conduct health assessment activities at the McMinn Avenue Superfund site. IAI researchers evaluated cancerous and non-cancer health effects of indoor VOCs at Roseland Elementary School. IAI concluded that there was no current public health hazard from indoor air to teachers and students at the school. However, based on previously documented contamination onsite, IAI recommended soil sampling and continued air monitoring.
