AIR Health Awards

Project Timeframe: 2012

The Achievements in Respiratory (AIR) Health Awards program recognized and rewarded schools and school districts that created healthy indoor air quality and asthma-safe environments for both students and staff. For each year the project was active, on National Healthy Schools Day up to 15 schools and three school districts were announced as award recipients. Schools received up to $2,000 and districts received $5,000 to expand their indoor air quality improvement practices. IAI evaluators surveyed past applicants, both those that were and were not awarded, analyzed survey responses, and presented preliminary findings to the American Public Health Association.
