This study provided the U.S. Department of Commerce with a thorough assessment of data regarding subsistence-oriented harvest of natural resources in the Pacific Northwest. Work with 20 treaty tribes across the region revealed that while many tribes maintain subsistence data, temporal and spatial coverage and utility for purposes of contemporary resource management vary extensively.
