This study documented then-current socioeconomic conditions and trends among Bristol Bay communities subject to the potential effects of offshore oil and gas development. The analysis focuses on the manner in which both the commercial fishing industry, and subsistence-oriented ways of life could be impacted by dramatic changes in socioeconomic status, social organization, and shifting value systems.
